Ms. Nancy Rohling is the History and Social Studies Instructor at Sacred Heart Academy. She has over 10 years of classroom experience, and more than 6 years of experience in administration. Throughout her career, she has taught a wide range of subjects - including history, science, reading, and religion - to students from 4th to 12th grade.
She studied at the University of West Georgia where she received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Education. Her additional training included courses/internships in Georgia Geographic Alliance, Holocaust Studies,Cross Curricular integration of History, Advanced Ed accreditation, National Geographic Bee and many others. She served as a certified catechist within the Archdiocese of Atlanta, specializing in Sacramental Preparation for over 20 years.
Ms. Rohling joined the Sacred Heart staff in 2019 as the Middle School Science teacher before assuming the role of History and Social Studies Instructor. Prior to that, she taught at Saint Rose Academy Catholic School in Douglasville where, as a founding member, she had a direct role in developing the curriculum, course objectives, retreats, and more. She also taught at the Iqra Math & Science Academy in Anniston from 2018 - 2019 providing instruction for all Social Studies courses for grades 6th - 12th.
While in college, she began attending RCIA classes at the invitation of her roommate. Within a year, she joined the Catholic Church and describes her conversion as a “coming home”. While caring for her family, she volunteered at the schools her children attended (St. Joseph’s, Our Lady of Victory and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Schools in the Atlanta area). In 2017, she moved to Alabama to be closer to her parents. She joined the Sacred Heart Parish family in 2019. She has nine children and one grandchild. In her spare time, Ms. Rohling enjoys reading, traveling, trivia games, and spending time with family.
